Sure! I'm kinda new to it as well, but here are some things I've learned.
- Embroidering on stretchy fabric is difficult, and often results in the embroidery looking squished. Fabric with no stretch seems to work the best.
- Some embroidery thread is more like yarn than sewing thread. It's better to use the yarn kind of thread for coloring rather than outlines because that kind of thread breaks easily unless you use more than one strand. If I can post pictures in the comments, I'll show you what I mean.
- Sewing thread works for embroidery sometimes, but it needs to be soft. I've tried using thick sewing thread for embroidery before, and it just tore my fabric up, and the thread looked terrible lol
