WAHLE SHARKS

I fucking love sharks. I'm so glad I live in a day and age where we're learning so much about them!!!! The sharks that I love the most are probably Whale Sharks. I just think they're beautiful, I'm so filled with wonder every time I see them. 

They're the world's largest fish, they can get up to roughly 50 feet (15 meters) long!!! That's really big and they survive on mostly plankton and small fish??? That's wild. The way they eat is through filter feeding. Filter feeding means they swim with their mouth open and scoop in water. The water goes through their gills and the comb-like filters, called gill rakers, catch the plankton until they close their mouth and swallow!!

While their mouths are quite large, but their throat is small. They also have polka dots forming stripes on their back, while their underside is white.
