idk, i was just on pinterest and i saw a pin of an art journal that i really liked. so i clicked on the source and it was from a blogpost from 2013, the owner hasn't posted anything since late 2020
i hope she's okay and that she still does those beautiful journals
another thing, there's a doll here in spain called Nancy (i love her, she's almost as old as barbie i'd say, and MY ALL TIME FAVORITE doll) and at the beginning of the millennium she saw a huge decline for some reason (for reference, my mom was born in the 60s and she played with Nancys, so yeah, she has history haha) but during the years following the one i was born in she reappeared! and she was everywhere and she's still going strong today.
anyway, enough context, what i wanted to get at: the doll herself had a blog i think from 2010 to 2015, when the company completely wiped it off the internet (thankfully it's still on the wayback machine), and when i told you i loved checking it out every couple of days, i'm not joking. i basically saw her come to life and talk to me!7-year-old me had a blast reading whatever she was up to. she even posted pictures! it was lovely and so so fun.
around 2016 i stopped playing with dolls (i still change their outfits from time to time when i'm back home haha) and a couple of years later, when i tried looking for the blog, i was devastated when i found out Famosa deleted it.
why don't we all make an effort to bring back blogging, in any way shape of form???? vlogging is awesome and i think traditional blogging is as well! just like the photo blogs i see on xiaohongshu all the time
i just want personal social media profiles to make a comeback, to be honest
P.D: also, why aren't doll campaigns nearly as fun as they used to be??? the polly pocket website with a million mini games please!!!!!

God i wanna get into the whole "old internet" part of it all but its hard trying to get used to it all.
I mean first things first i know jack about the whole culture here, how are you supposed to present yourself, when can you interact with people? i just dont know.
And its also just really hard interacting with the forums on here specifically. specifically because you have to check several times if you want to know if someone replied to what you wrote. its a big mess.
But i guess thats what people find charming about it? The old web was clunky and weird, but at least people got great ways of self expression, like on here! I simply adore the idea of being allowed to change the HTML og your own profile, it lets people personalise to a much greater extent than a profile picture and (maybe) a banner.
Idk im rambling too lol.

yeah!! mainstream social medias now aren't customizable at all, it's always a pfp and a banner if you're lucky
and personally, i love it here, it feels very selective in a way?
but yeah sometimes it's difficult to interact with others
