Weird Christianities From Other Places and Timelines With Their Own Gospels and Unique Spiritualities

I say "weird" Christianities. I mean in this a good way, as in fascinating, valuable sources of wisdom, mostly hidden, ignored and forgotten. The scriptures of the East and West I enjoy the most are books hardly anyone has ever heard of.

The writings left behind in this weird Christianities category consist of alternative gospels, collections of psalms, letters, scores of acts, revelations, and further to the East, even some sutras of spiritual wisdom that rival Taoist or Buddhist scriptures. Rather than being just a small number of "apocryphal" or "extra-canonical" books rejected by the mainstream, this is a vast library... several libraries actually. And some of the scriptures of what's been called by some "the other bible" or "lost books of the bible" are quite spiritual and mystical, required reading for those seeking an honest history beyond limited sectarian belief-systems.

For a longer period of time than the US has been a country, as in centuries, there was no such thing in early Christianity as a closed canon of scripture. Even now, the number of books and contents of the bible somewhat varies from east to west, with the Ethiopian Bible being the most colorful of all containing a total of 88 books. And their collections of extra or semi canonical writings number in the hundreds.

Some of these might be called lost books, but many have been rediscovered and translated into English. You can read most of them for free online if you know where to look.

Safe journeys to you as you make up your own mind and do what thou wilt crossing the ocean of this world (samsara).
