We bought a similar looking necklace...am I the bad guy?

So basically if you aren't caught up that I lost my friends necklace when I was partying. I cannot find it anywhere! I am very upset about it but me and my husband found such a similar looking one. We took out so much loans and a lot of other stuff. We had to dismiss our maid..! now I have to work in this house for however long...to just pay back some necklace...I feel horrible about it but I gave it to her. I cannot speak with her ever again! I feel too horibble
