Homestuck^2 / Beyond canon is a hot mess (And i love it.)

I recently finished a re-read of homestuck^2, and I think i should share my general opinions on it. The comic directly builds on top of events of the Epilogues (which i last read a few years back) which were.....not the greatest, to say the least.  Even though it required less set-up than homestuck proper, I feel that for the ~2 years spent on beyond canon, there's not actually been a lot of plot progression. there's too many characters in the POV rotation, so to give them all equal spotlight, the comic jumps around a lot. I feel as if the comic gives the readers no chance to empathize or relate to the character's, so readers don't really....CARE about them. The events of the comic go so quickly, that it all just blurs together. I do have may qualms with the comics writing and pacing, but that does not mean I completely despise it. there was some parts i really enjoyed!, like art for example, which due to the comics new team, is just getting better and better. I also think the antagonists are really hate-able, as Ult Dirk and Jane are such good villains that it made me WAY more invested in the comic. Yes, both Dirks and Janes decisions might seem a little OOC, but I might soon write another post with deeper analysis on them (And my theories on why they Are Like That) .

TLDR: homestuck beyond canon has flaws, but I'm hopeful for where it might end up

What are you guys thoughts on it? Some other opinions are insightful
