ranking every my little pony generation bcz i'm a failure and i have no one to yap to

HELLO THERE

so I'll be rating them show-wise and toy-wise cuz I feel it should be two separate categories

warning: it's my personal opinion and I understand if you don't agree with it! just don't come after me :'D

g1:

show: the show's not my favorite, but it's nonetheless a cute show to just chill and watch, I haven't watched past the first season tho

toy: I don't have any g1 in my personal collection as they're pretty hard to find, but I find them really cute looking and I like the variety that comes with them!

g2:

toy: they stand out quite a bit from the rest of the franchise because of their more realistic proportions, but I think it adds a little charm! 

g3:

show: I haven't watched the show, but A Very Minty Christmas is on my watch list!

toys: probably my favorites! they're varied, are quite sturdy and are super fun to style! their hair feels really soft too

g3.5 :

show: It's a funny and wholesome show. It's nothing more, nothing less, and it's cute!

toys: probably not my favorites, their faces don't do it for me, but they're still great, not the worst I've seen

g4:

show: Ah, it's the one we all know and love. The story's great, the characters are cute, and it's, in my opinion, overall the best when it comes to the show!

toys: they're cute but I think they lack variety a lot, they feel a bit small too, but i think they're not all bad!

g4 movie:

show: the movie's my favorite! it came on the day of my birthday and I'm overall very attached to it!

toys: the toys look stunning! but the hair quality is mediocre and they pull out easily

equestria girls:

show: the movies are pretty good, my favorites are rainbow rocks and friendship games!

toys: idk..they feel a bit too barbie like I guess? I personally prefer the mini versions over the dolls

g4.5 (pony life)

show: I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I personally didn't hate it, it's not a big show with a story but more of a small thing to make us wait for g5, and it does pretty good at it!

toys: their heads look a bit odd to me, they're probably my least favorites :'D

g5:

movie: the movie was good! it introduced us well to the characters and the overall world building of the series

show: the youtube show is a bit ehhh for me, idk if it's the artstyle or the content but it feels a bit too brainrot-ish?

Netflix show: i don't know, it felt like hasbro couldn't decide between making a brand new thing or basing itself out of g4, which made the show a bit weird in terms of chronology, but it overall had a good story!

toys: they're not my favorites in terms of design, but i really like the fact that they have cuties masks on both sides and that the wings are movable!
