death in dreams

someone i know died recently. it wasn't entirely unexpected. a few weeks ago i had a dream where he was outside my house in the snow, disoriented, freezing to death. his cheeks were turning blue from frostbite. i ushered him inside, got him soup,  and tried to warm him up, but somehow i knew it was already too late.

that wasn't how he died in reality. i'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, what my subconscious is trying to say.
