met my first heyspace creepy guy..

It started out like normal he texted me but spammed me to text hi back..I didn't mind this at all because that's what I do sometimes to my own friends but then I gave hi my discord and he asked me to verify that I was a girl..∘ ∘ ∘ ( °ヮ° ) ? is that normal on heyspace I'm new to all of this. he told me to put 3 fingers up and take a selfie but I didn't feel like it since I don't have the energy to I tried explaining that I could do it later and just send selfies from this week to him..he still was pushing me to verify myself and I was super uncomfortable? 

Is it normal for people to ask for verification photos on heyspace like that?
