HIHI!!! to who ever you are and thank ya for reading my yap sesh. Ok Imma explain on what is happening in this post. So Hi! I'm NayNay I draw and I wanted to do an art study to help with my art block so this is it. There's going to be an analysis and why i picked it :3 and what I learnt if you only here for art I hope you enjoy! ɷ◡ɷ
Also TW for gore art :p
Ok to start this is my persona they are loosely based if ne to clarify somethings on my character that is be probably changed through this blog is that when shown Honeydew's eyes are uneven, I do that in most drawing of my myself. Though it felt inauthentic to do this in these art styles TwT but we prevail. Other things at are a must of my persona is the two toned hair, witch hat, and moles on my chest and under eye. Those are something that I rlly like about the honeydew, especially since I have had and still have those traits. Oh also I draw honeydew and both female and male if there's any confusion lolヽ( ~~~ )ノ.
Analysis
This is my art style I currently have I have to say it's pretty semi realistic it is just what I generally prefer , though I have different style is the main ones. I have a lot of consistent weight within my line art there is hardly or no variation. I draw hair pretty fluffy and lose if I had to put it into words. I have to say I have pretty good color and rendering at least in my opinion, I go for more saturated colors for shading and off whites for highlights. Though I suck at rendering texture of clothing AH- I think you can tell. though these are only a small example of my art it summarizes it well. Anyways lets get into the art study!!!!!!( •̀ᴗ•́ )و ̑̑
Sunao Yoshida (Trinity Blood)
Explanation
OkOk lemme tell you how I even got my hand on this manga. So in this town I frequent there's a senior gated community they hold a biannual garage sell. Where the whole community gets rid of what they don't want and sell it for cheap. I had found Trinity Blood in this nice old lady's sell she was so kind and her grand daughter was also there telling me she brought some of her old stuff I got four volumes for like $10 what a steal. the art style is something I gravitated towards it's so pretty. I didn't finish reading the Manga because I got them OUT OF ORDER!!! Watever it's fine. The reason why I chose this for my art study is because the way he draws the eye it's really pretty and nice really sets this manga apart from most others at the time, with the eye lashes. Also overall it has a super gothic inspired clothing and story line! I recommend a read if you like really long stories though it's hard to read since the author died and his associated had to continue it for him (idk if it's under different names srry!) Anyways lets get into the art!

Analysis
Yoshida's art is very good I have to admit it's very inspiring! on to the actual analysis Yoshida's line art is very thin with different weight variation through it you can see it in the body part or clothing. He uses the weight to ass to the exaggeration of different parts of the drawings. Something he heavily exaggerates in the eye lashes where he either does thick and heavy lines for some others he makes it an area to color. I have to say it they are amazing they're very heavy though still feel light and wispy. The hair has a lot to see that it's very curved but sharp as well, Yoshida makes the hair twist and turn to add layers and variation but also makes them sharp at the ends to still have that edge that is present within the story. Besides that he puts a lot of though into the clothing as well, with the shading and highlighting being small, but but still very detailed at the end. Otherwise, I have to say everything else is fairly simple within the designs. the rendering which is almost (if not all)is done for the cover art which have very saturated and bright colors and we get to see those eyes really pop. with little to no blushing the rendering mostly is shading and highlights only, which can make us really see all the details within the line art. Though something I did find was that the art was very inconstant which I mean same, but was very hard for me to learn the art style.
My art
What I learned
Overall I learnt a lot I think what really hit home was that the thinner line art, can actually help me with the texture of clothing. the way you can draw the fold and how the cloth covers something with thinner lines really add the the beauty of it. Also that the thicker lashes in comparison of the thin lines attracts our eyes and really makes us focus on the focal point. And the sharp ends of the hair could also push us down to look at the rest of the pieces overall making you start from top tot the bottoms
How I think I Did
I think I did well to encapsulate the art style. Also we draw hair pretty similar ngl, though I tired to make the hose longer like in some references. But I think I just ended up making it look like a regular nose I'd draw.(つ﹏<。) I think this was pretty easy for me to understand especially since we do a lot of things similar but. Well lmk what ya think!?
Akiko Higashimura (Princess Jellyfish)
Explanation
Alright Alright ik, this is a really popular anime, especially on TikTok more recently. Oh NayNay I bet you just found out about it within the most recent years. you say and I say NO!!!-`д´- lol this is actually the first anime I ever watched (god I sound old), I had first watched this on Netflix (back when it was still hype asf) on the family Wii. Those were good times, overall this is a pretty and beautiful style. This anime had changed my life and added to the person I'd become nehehehe. Though it's pretty simplistic compared to most it still has so much detail and beauty in it. This artist holds a lot of nostalgia for me and I wanted to be able to kinda relive the past lol.(⋟﹏⋞)

Analysis
Higashimura has a very rounded art style I have to say. Every edge is rounded which give softer appearance to her art. I noticed she has a lot of rounded faces within her art, I feel like it's because of the genre of this manga. Very light and pretty, though she has few details on face. Just main parts that need to be there, Higashimura dives more into details and accessories of the overall character and outfit. Which shows us more of the characters personality and overall what kind of person we can expect them to be. She also adds white to the black areas to give them detail rather than gray or leaving it be. Don't even get me started on her color pieces they're so lightly color with shading bringing in the color back into the piece. of course she still give pink cheeks that just smth is a must tbh. It gives it a light feeling feeling something that this overwhelming at all, and overall leaves nice art.
My Art
What I learnt
what I had learnt was that sometimes it's good to add less detail into the face and more into the overall design of clothing. For me clothing is iffy whether or not it'll be good or not. adding more to the accessories to add and show the type of person they are and overall how they want to be perceived. I learnt clothes matter a lot more than just being cool (✖╭╮✖)
How I think I did
I personally thought that the witch hat wouldn't really fit into the style or esthetic of this. So I was a little stumped until I remembered I was alive and not a baby when this manga was being published. So young me was used as a refrence as well; my mother dressed me like how every teenager wanted to the layer and everything. I had also lighten myself I was a sad about it but Idk know how to color a dark charcter in her style idk my brain couldn't yk? I think I captured the overall style well, I just noticed I left one side flipped lol. watever too lazy to change that. Again Lmk what yall think
Early 2000s anime >.<
Explanation
Oh man I LOVE I LIVE for this style idk how to explain this ever since I've seen it idk how old I was but I've been obsessed with it. My older sister used to draw in this style all the time, and every time I would sit and watch her ofc I got yelled at and kicked out. But nothing would stop me from looking and seeing this art. THANK YOU guys who draw in this style yall feed my soul, I thank yall everytime I see one. Does anyone know if there's a specific name for this style or is it just early 2000s anime. It's so cute and very of it's time Did ya guys ever listen to nigthcore?!

Analysis
This art style has very think line art besides for the big eyes. This was very much the style of the time back then Big head small skinny bodies. Everything at the time would pretty much look like this. There's a mix of cell shading and blended out shading, making the pieces very interesting to look at. Also there's no black or main black area if anything the black is shading, which is very interesting. the hair is very straight like in a way that it looks stiff yk? But it's still voluminous. The rendering is soft with the shading bringing in the saturation and ofc bring cheeks a staple.(>▽<)
My Art
What I learnt
I fucking love this art style omg I wish I could draw like this all the time AGH- but ni I have to stay in my lain. This taught more on cell shading which is something I hadn't really tried before though it's nice. As well as anatomy this was hard I already kinda have trouble with this though this really pushed me to get the proportions of the body right.
How I think I did
I think I did pretty dam good personally, I even had my sister review it every time I thought I was done. I had trouble with the anatomy I'm more used to drawing less skinny women though this was good practice. I was having some trouble with the eye though my sister help me clear that up. BUT GOD CELL SHADDING ╰(°ㅂ°)╯kick my fucking ass wtf, why is it so hard. Whoever cell shades ur a FUCKING goat.
That's it!
Thank you for reading or just looking at my art, this was so fun. I think I did a better job in this art study rather than my first time doing an art study. Lmk what yall think I love replying and talking about stuff. What's ur fav artist that you wanna draw like?╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯
