Kindle

I’ve been regretting buying a Kindle Paperwhite 11th Gen on eBay for cheap because it’s taking too long to arrive and the new raspberry metallic Kindle Signature… I bought the Kindle to save money (I replaced a lost Kobo Libra 2) but I would have bought that new Kindle in a HEARTBEAT. Metallic YES. The back looks just like the back of a pink iPod or a pink old 2000s Razr flip phone. Omg I want it so bad. It’s so beautiful.

Debating returning my Kindle after I get it. I’ve never done that before, though, and even though it’s a company I’ll feel bad doing it. So I may just deal with my Kindle. Or not. Because I know the new Kindle looks more like a book with its warm color, and the page turning is slightly faster… But some say it’s not worth it. So yeah.

I may just keep my Kindle and decorate it. My last e-reader was white. I did not take care of her… She got a scratch on the front in the same month I got her. I liked her, but I wanted her in black. I used her all the time when I was in the bathtub.

People ask me… Why not just get a phone? Phones don’t have e-ink technology. When you step out in the blazing sun, you have difficulties seeing what’s on your screen, right? Due to the glare? You won’t have that with e-ink e-readers. When you drop your phone in water… You’re in a haste getting it out, no? Because it’ll get damaged by water? Don’t your eyes hurt when you’re glued to a screen all day long? Don’t you feel like you your phone for mindless entertainment, short-term entertainment, and you know you need to get into the habit of reading? I rest my case.

If you’re debating getting a Kindle or a Kobo (and only those two since I don’t know about all the other e-readers), just get a Kobo. You can do so much more with it. It’s not linked to a company such as Amazon. I’m really just getting a Kindle because I’ve never had one and I want to save some money. xP

Okay, one thing I’m curious with. I wonder how secure some Kindles are compared to Kobos. The mere idea of someone using my stolen Kobo and placing their own books on it pisses me off. I did put a password on it, but it’s pretty easy to reset it. They’re not like IOS where you can lock the device through iCloud.

Apparently, Amazon can lock up Kindles and make it unusable if you report it as lost or stolen. It can still be sideloaded. I wonder if I can do that should I lose this Paperwhite. If not I may return it and just purchase the new pink Kindle. Hell, I wonder if this one was stolen! And I may just use Kindles from now on cuz I need that. Fuck burglars.

That’s the main reason why I stick to Apple phones. I’ve had my second Android phone get stolen before! To be fair, it didn’t have a password on it and anyone who looked through it must have had a HELL of a time xp Nothing makes me more satisfied than seeing thieves steal Apple devices and being unable to break into them. It’s kind of funny. Link a phone number to it and they’ll blow up your phone with ransom spams and crap.

Anyway, I was considering buying skins and cases for my new Kindle! I may get a red glittery front and back skin for it and use a clear case. I’ll definitely get a pop socket for it - definitely a heart-shaped one, or maybe not. Balance is key. I’ll get a clicker for it so it’ll be somewhat like my Kobo Libra 2. I freaking loved it. I loved those buttons. I always laid on my side while reading in bed.

If I can’t hook the Kindle to my Amazon account, I’ll send it back and buy the new Kindle. It’ll be mine. I won’t put any skins on it. Maybe l will put skins on the front… Some people don’t like that that the new Kindle is pink on the back but has black bezels on the front. Naw, I won’t. I like it! It reminds me of my old iPad 4th generation - black on front and pink case in back.

Hhhhhhhhhh I just adore that new Kindle. I would just keep a screen protector on it and have a clear case. The upside of having an older gen Kindle Paperwhite, it doesn’t matter too much if your cases and skins destroy the actual Kindle. I mean the plastic. This is assuming the Kindle will perpetually be hidden concealed behind said cases and skins. Now if the back of the metallic Kindle got scraped? Then there’ll be a problem.

Sorry for the geek session. I just find e-readers to be such a fascinating piece of technology! More people should know about them and realize its power! E-readers are one way to beat overconsumption. Cuz I know every time I go inside a store with books, I have to leave with one or two. I barely read as is! (I have zero self-control) I just wish these e-readers were more accessible. You’ll find many used iPhones to be cheaper than used e-readers.

Here’s a hot idea. iPad kids. I was an iPad kid. Try… Kindle kids. E-reader kids. How cool would it be if e-readers were bought in bulk by schools? My old school had elementary in one building and middle and high school in the building just behind it. My math teacher made us use these advanced electronic calculators to communicate with us. Blew. My. Mind.

E-readers are so dang expensive but uh maybe schools could benefit from them? Link all of them to one Amazon account… Okay. I’m getting carried away xp it’ll be more expensive because what about the kids who need to bring a book home because they have no internet at home? Fat chance schools will let these devices leave the premises.

Still. Kindle kids. Parents who limit their children’s electronic usage. Just let them keep the Kindles. Give ‘em e-readers that don’t have browsers. Chances are you’ll have yourselves a dedicated reader!

I’m so excited, brah. To be an owner of an e-reader again. I like that this Kindle is made out of metal. It’s going to feel more polished than my old e-readers. I’ve only had two… Both were Kobos. I have no idea what my first one was. I got it for free from a neighbor since he worked for a palette store.

I’m going to start collecting these things! I’ve always collected electronics.
