My Thoughts On The Oshi no Ko Ending (Spoilers)

If you don’t already know what Oshi no Ko is, it’s an anime and manga about two twins (Ruby and Aqua)  growing up in the celebrity world. It shines the light on the darker aspects of being a celebrity. I do want to make it clear, I haven’t fully finished the manga. I skipped around a lot, but once I reread and cover those parts, I might make a new blog (If it changed my viewpoint).

When we first get introduced to Aqua, he is a reincarnated version of the doctor Gorou Amemiya (who was pushed off a mountain). After Ai’s death, he is dead focused on finding the killer / their father. From here, we begin the story.

Aqua’s whole arc was killing his father. That was his only purpose in life. We get glimpses of suicidal tendencies from Aqua too. He wants nothing more than to kill his father before he dies.

When he finds Taiki Himekawa, gets his DNA and finds it a complete match, he “confronts” Himekawa. Himekawa tells him his father and mother have died, and from this moment, Aqua finds purpose in living.

It was later revealed their father was still alive, and thus, Aqua returned to his revenge plan.

Skipping near the end, Aqua finally finds his father and reveals his true plan, that Ai truly loved their father. This causes a breakdown, and once more, sends someone to kill Ruby (He sent someone before to kill Ai. Ruby's planned death backfires on him though). Aqua finds his father again, and confronts him once again. He kills his father, claiming to protect his sister's future.

While yes, this route would be good, but it would’ve been better if Aqua survived. His whole purpose was to kill his father and then himself. It was his only purpose in life. Even if it later changed that his purpose was to protect Ruby’s future, it still doesn’t change his real purpose throughout the story.

This is just my opinion on the story. I don’t know how I would rewrite it LOL share your thoughts / opinions below!
