Baffling Thing about Star Trek TNG

I love the show to death, and I especially love Data but like...

Why do they keep hooking him up to the computers and shit ??!!

There are MULTIPLE episodes of him going haywire and fucking the ships computer system over, and I'm sat here watching the Episode "fistful of Data's" like... Picard... what were you THINKING letting Geordi and Data hook him up to the computer and interface with it??

Like remember the many times he used his seniority in Starfleet to idk, LOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN SHIP?

This just feels like a big plot hole in the whole story, they even mention it in an episode like "oh yeah Data you've fucked the computer many times but like its cool lol!"

Is everyone on the ship afraid of making him feel bad (He can't until like post season 6 so..?) or are they afraid of setting a bad precedent for Androids rights in Starfleet (pretty sure Lore already fucked any chances for future androids... as if there will be any more... correct me if I'm wrong I just started Voyager this year oops!)?

Just seems like Picard would have more sense than to continuously trust Data to just... slap his head against the console and upload his brain to it.

Does this bother anyone else or is it just me...?
