Oh my fucking god these are breathtaking! I love your style of taking photos, really mesmerizing!! I love the carnival ones! Very pretty :3 What kind of film are you using for your polaroid cam? I have one too, but right now I'm just using standard film. My cameras from the mid 80s!! What about yours? :)))
Replying to myself here as I see someone else has already asked you basically the same thing, haha! I'll have to check out the SX-70 cause I really love the feel of these photos, and I just love polaroids in general!!. I have a handful of cams, but the only one I have from the 70s is a canon TX from '75. It's your standard 35mm film camera. It's really beautiful and I love the shots it takes on their naturally with just standard film, but I'd absolutely LOVE to try out different colored films for sure.
TYSMMM!!!! yeah!! these were all on SX70 film on an SX70 besides the green 1 that was on 600 film on an SX70
amd omgg I wanna shoot some 35mm so bad, Ive been really thinking about getting a 35mm camera soon and trying to shoot and develop some b&w film myself. I've been holding off a bit though until I move sometime early next year though but agghhh I wanna so bad
Yessss I HIGHLY recommend!! My dad happened to leave it behind and he didn't want it anymore cause he thought it didn't work, BUT I WAS DETERMINED TO TEST IT OUT ANYWAY!! I'm so glad I tested it out because mf it was not broken whatsoever it still took pics Lhh. The only thing messed up about it is the light meter, but you can easily do that manually using the "Sunny 16" method/rule. Extremely helpful manual method to make sure the exposure is just right, and most of my photos turned out great my first try with it!! I love love love film cameras and I'm used to 35mm ones. I really wanna try different types of older cameras as well. I just know it can be a pain to find film the older it is, and if you do find film it can get hella pricey!
these are amazing!! im wondering how i could also add photos to my blogs since I'm trying to post some pictures from my travels on my blog, can you give me some tips on this? thanks!
tysm and yes!! but also no, it depends! there's different types of polaroid film, and instant film in general still being produced today.. as well as that different cameras too that take them.
I took these on a polaroid SX-70 with SX-70 film, besides the skeleton one, that one I took with 600 film but on the SX-70 as well. the SX-70 film has a very low range of levels that can come out in it which is why it isn't very contrasty and seems a bit dull.. as well as that the SX-70 camera is from the early 70s. it looks vintage bc well it is!! ♡ the newer film types and cameras take wayyy better clearer images with lots of color and contrast.
I absolutely love the look of these though and it captures images like exactly how I like them, as long as everything else goes right. instant film is very tricky to get right. like out of 2 packs (16 shots), I'll get maybe 2-4 photos I really like on average ♡ it takes a lot of mastery to get it right and im still learning, esp if you use the older stuff which is more sensitive to light and has less of a range.
yeah! its got a cult like following, although not very very large. Polaroid actually went bankrupt I believe and all their factories were shut down but around 10 years ago some folks bought one of the factories they used to produce in, which they left their equipment behind in (with no documentation really) and ended up figuring out how the formula worked and all the machines and started producing it themselves! eventually they made enough to buy out the polaroid name too. its a super fascinating story. they're the only factory still putting out polaroid film right now.
and ya! its more for the fun and trying to get quality pics over it than just shooting perfect pics every shot. that's kinda what i LOVE about it. like yeah it might not be totally worth the like 1 per pack being quality, but at the same time the experience and getting better at it makes it worth it for me. Especially that satisfaction when a picture comes out super super well.

Amazing pictures. They look like where taken a decade ago.
Is this the magic of a polaroid?

Fascinating, Only 2-4 photo in 2 packs seems like a little amount. But this is quality over quantity for sure
Also i didn't know that their is still a market for instant film.
I quess that i never did look out for it.
