our spiritual beliefs can co-exist
With the recent elections, it really feels like society as a whole is moving towards conservatism, where monotheistic beliefs are being cemented into the younger gens (probably a push back from the progressive liberalism most western societies had, and the negative consequences spawned from the movement, which imo is unavoidable) it's kinda spooky how this liberalism and the occurrence of a pandemic mirrors the situation of Germany before WW1...I stay in a relatively non-tumultuous side of the world so my personal safety isn't concerned, but it really does cast a long shadow on the looming threat of war, especially since we have a shit load more of nuclear weapons now.
If I'm gonna be real, I'm just gonna say spiritual beliefs are overrated, and that's coming from someone whose life is all about it. People focus too much on the "end-game", as in what comes after death. Is it the Christian Hell as we know it? Is it the Greek version we there's Hades? Is it just a limbo? It's normal to skim across inner reflections on such topics because of their heavy nature and use a popular belief that everyone already has on that topic, but it also creates a void where people do not speak to themselves authentically in order to try to understand what they belief. There's no growth in the spiritual aspect, rather the idea of religion and even the occult becomes more of an emotional crutch for people to fall back on when they have no answers about what happens when after we die.
The lengths some people we go through to defend this belief may be downright ridiculous, going so far as to launch personal attacks on others. This is the caveat that causes people to be easily manipulated by "Christian" or religious lead politics, and the people in power know it. This is why the Abrahamic rhetoric is so powerful when it comes down to influencing the votes of others. It's of course no surprise that the Church has been using their beliefs to control the social landscape since the the Middle Ages.
Now, if spiritual beliefs are overrated, why do I even belief and practice my craft on a daily basis? For me the reason is simple, it is what my soul has always been drawn to and I enjoy the process of finding my "truth" and over a decade, I've come to realise that no matter how far people chase to be "enlightened" or figure out the "complete truth", we will never, ever know until the moment we die. With every enlightenment comes a period of descent into the shadow and the cycle of light and dark continues. In fact, one of my "enlightenment" breakthroughs was being able to let go of trying to find an "absolute truth", the obsession creates unhealthy desires and of course as a practitioner that works the Saturnian path, it is impertinent to find gnosis by letting go. Only then, can you be free of the cumbersome worries that weighs on your soul, and others will not be able to use their subjective dogma to manipulate you as well. There is a form of happiness to be sought in being able to connect with another living being despite your differing beliefs. Until then,
