boogie nights review. also hello again

hi frieeends i'm back. I left because I moved to Paris for six months and lived off-line all that time.
Anyway I just watched boogie nights by PTA omg!! I'll be brief, but let's just say this movie basically reignited my love for film.

This is a movie about sex, but most importantly, it's a movie about family, and I think that's beautiful. We have a massive cast, all of them super talented, a beautiful story and the gorgeous backdrop of late 70's to mid 80's LA. I love movies based in LA especially during this time because the aesthetics are to die for.
The move itself is so amazing, directed so full of talent and makes it seem absolutely effortless. Every character is so charming and full of life and you want to learn about each of them, their life, their stories. The pace picks up ten minutes in and doesn't stop, it just keeps going and going, ending with the craziest last image I've seen. Let's just say, it does not disappoint.
I gave it a 4/5 on letterboxd and I stand by that. It's fun, it's cool, I'll watch it again someday, but it doesn't reach The Summit for me (will talk about The Summit at some point).
