My Darkelf BJD Doll

Today I would like to tell you about my favourite BJD doll. For doll collectors there is something that is simply called ‘the Holy Grail’. Owning this doll is something very special for every collector. Admittedly, it is of course a different doll for every collector. Some like big ones, others small ones, some a regular model, others a one-off, but they all have a hunt for their Holy Grail.

For me that grail is my B&G (company) - Coloara Mlezzlir (name), and yes for that name someone wants to suffer very cruelly. He is very old, I have owned him for 10 years. Admittedly, it's not the most stylish model of its time, there were better ones. But he's still special to me because he embodies my long-time RPG character ‘Zakal Arcanum’. Zakal was my Drow mage, whom I played for many years and with whom I drove the other players, including the master, crazy. He was supposed to be my first doll, but in terms of time he was my third.

I had a horrible job back then with an even more horrible boss who made me and my apprentices sick, I mean that literally. I quit that job and swore to myself that if I did and took a new job, I would buy THIS doll. Why? Because it was incredibly expensive at the time and I had very little money. Nevertheless, I did it.

I decided to give up this job and take a new one, turn my life around and buy myself this wonderful and sinfully expensive doll. When it arrived, it was indescribably beautiful and I cried.

Zakal is the one doll I would never sell, not even if it meant that I would only get soup at the end of the month. This doll is my grail and has a special place in the house. It will always be and remain something special, even though I now have many other dolls that are more detailed, more elaborate, larger and more modern in their design.

About the character of the Zakal Arcanum itself:

He is a Drow mage, escaped from the Underdark, he has gone on adventures to earn a living. But he was never good, he was always evil. His disadvantage is that he is burdened with the curse of eternal youth, which means he always looks like a teenage boy. He was not deterred by this, but transformed himself with illusions into all sorts of things to deceive, lie to and cheat his fellow adventurers and steal their loot.

He was a great adventure and I really miss playing him. But at least I have him on my shelf as a doll, so he'll always be a tangible memory.
