why are men so ew

Okay so like this friend ive had for YEARS just confessed to me after going MIA from everyone for like a year. And he popped back up from the dead just a couple days ago and he literally said he had a giant crush on me. And he was like my best friend too so that really sucks. And i've literally told him i don't see him like that but hes flirting with me and ig he always has but it hasn't been so direct before. like at first we were first just messing around but now he thinks that we're dating and im like NO STOP ITTTT. Like hes texting me super personal stuff and i dont know how to tell him to stop without losing him as a friend cause he really does mean a lot to me. Idk why guys can't just keep it in their pants. Im not even attracted to him either ...this whole situation is just ew ew ew
