Why is trick or treat DEAD??

I know this topic is a little late, but I've been thinking about it and I realized how dead trick and treat was when I participated for fun this year. Barely any houses were open and people were only focused on taking the candy or giving out the candy, there was no human interaction or much efforts to make things spooky :( 

I miss the old trick or treating traditions, where people would put in their all to scare others or decorate their houses...But oh well! Let's hope Christmas will be better! :)
