Scream 6 rant

idk if this is a common opinion thats being shared around but im gonna give my two cents

scream 6 was so unbelievably disappointing when i watched it in theatres. my expectations were so high, i actually thought they would do something at least a little creative but they just did the same plot as the other movies. The family of the killer wants revenge for their dead family member or being abandoned or ANYTHING to do with family. they did that in scream 2 with Nancy & Mickey, they did it in scream 3 with Roman, they did it in scream 4 with Jill and Charlie (albite it wasn't revenge but it was still centred around family) and finally they did it in scream 6 with the whole kirsch family going psycho because their son got killed for going on a massacre. it's really getting old especially since they can literally go in a more creative route. ill just give a rundown on what i would've done because im clearly very passionate about this topic lmao.

So first im going to scrap the whole kirsch family plot because 1. like i said the family of killers is getting really old and 2. i have an unexplainable hatred towards ethan (dont try and sell him to me because i will not buy it lol). plus let me just add that a WHOLE family getting revenge is far fetched, i know this is a horror but seriously. Surely a whole entire family wouldn't be murderers?

Instead of the Kirsch family wreaking havoc i propose introducing a cult, specifically a ghostface cult. I remember there was a theory that it would be a plot in the movie when the trailers dropped but of course i was disappointed to all hell. honestly a cult is a smarter, fresh take on a scream plot and it would link a lot of the movies together. the scream franchise is always linking things together honestly but a cult would be better and clearer. Plus you could make it so Richie and Amber were part of the cult and less outlandish that some unemployed guy would have a warehouse of memorabilia that would most likely cost an arm and a leg to get. 

this cult would be led to the older ghostfaces like Stu, Mickey and Charlie (maybe jill idk) because they weren't shot in the head and usually thats the tell tale sign someone is 100% dead in the scream franchise. Plus the little easter egg of matthew lillard in scream 2 could be grounds to reintroduce Stu, beside Matthew Lillard seems keen to return as well. The cult being led by Stu links him to Sam as im sure if he got wind of Billy having a kid out there he would go searching straight away.

i don't know, im sure this is a popular opinion. i formed a lot of this from theories from the trailer when it first came out as well as different peoples thoughts on it as well. anyway bye :3
