Hello! As the title reads I will be giving my opinions on the manga (soon to be anime) Sakamoto days!
To begin, I'll give the basic plot line, it's fairly simple. A man names taro Sakamoto was once an elite assassin but he then became retired and rusty, and has a family. Now, he is being forced back into being an assassin after a bounty had been placed on his head.
I'm not giving this plot enough justice but it does a lot of things for a simple plot. It has some of the best character designs and panels in current Shonen jump along with the action. You ever seen a man redirect a bullet using a car wheel? Neither had I until Sakamoto days.
Now, to wrap this up I'll go over the different character that are main stays in the series:
Sakamoto: my description of him above, he no longer kills and cares very deeply for his family. He is a loving man and spends time with his family when he can and takes care of there daughter
Shin: Shin is a clairvoyant that was friends with Sakamoto during his days in the jaa (japan assassin association). He worked part time and is always concerned about his judgment and being as good as sakamoto. He not only has that, but hes smart and thinks of ways out of situations. He gets more psychic based abilities as the series goes on. He has a good character arc going on the manga currently!
Lu: it's unfortunate because she has currently been sidelined for other characters during this arc we are In, however she is a princess from a dynasty that sakamoto and shin help earlier on in the story and she stays around for awhile. She has her own unique fighting style and helps when others are in need.
I saved my personal favorite character for last:
Heisuke: ah man, I love this fella. He's a sniper who was poor and not good on luck for awhile. He meets sakamoto and shin during a competition for some cash (i think that's what it was anyway) and he's silly and dumb sometimes. But when he's not, he's thinking about how he's weak without his sniper and wants to become better and use it to his advantage since it is the only thing he's good at (or so he says). He has really good character moments and I really like him. He also has a lil bird names piisuke that helps him snipe.
All in all, please give sakamoto days a read! It's decently long but worth it. I skipped over so many elements in this because I just wanted to give brief description of characters and basic outline of story. The order and other characters you meet along in the story are also great. Anyways if you made it this far thanks for reading :)
