Resources for website making

Recently I started focusing more on making a website, both for personal things and a fun little archive for a ship I like. I thought maybe it would be fun to share some resources with other people if they ever wanna do something similar to this but don't know where to start. This will include links and some places I've used to do this myself.

Where to make a website

Neocities and Nekoweb

Both are free, but with donations, you can get the ability to make more than one website and more space with some other perks. I personally use neocities since it's the one I found first, but the other works similarly so there shouldn't be any major differences in how the place works.

HTML/css tutorials

W3Tutorials

Sadgrl's html/css guides

Webmastering

GeeksForGeeks

I'm using first two the most, but there should also be many more of these. Sadgrl's ones are specifically on making a website from scratch so it's good if you want to go that route!

Premade website templates

Sadgrl's layout builder

Neothemes

Swirl's template

A larger layout directory

For the personal project, I used Swirl's template and for the other one sadgrl's layout maker. If you want to have a starting point without much coding knowledge it's not bad to pick out a template and work from there. Most of these can be edited and as long as you keep the credits if they're written on the template, you can edit it as much as you want and change it as much as you'd like.

Decorations

For making your own

blinkies.cafe

button maker

For finding them elsewhere

This one is less easy to link places to directly. My advice is to search places like Tumblr and neocities sites tagged with things like buttons, stamps and blinkies. You can also find some here in the layouts section.

This is all for now, if I find something else I might update this journal!
