TUESDAY 11/6/24 (DAY 0):
okay so i decided to get angel fangs FINALLY after months of wanting them. they're my first oral piercing and the piercer i went to was super nice about the whole deal :]
pain rating
first side: 4. alright
second side: 7. yeah that one definitely hurt. my lips felt really warm afterwards, and it was super weird because i suddenly had this awareness of my lips that i had never processed. i got pretty used to the feeling by the end of the day though
it's been a while since i got pierced so my pain memory is foggy but i don't think it was any worse than my septum. anyone who says angel fangs don't hurt is lying to you, but it wasn't too bad either. i teared up a little on the second piercing & it's not a quick cartilage jab, because of how much tissue is being pierced through.
my right side was pierced first and swelled up a little more than my left. some bruising developed and my lips became super fucking dry. what can u do
personally, i do sometimes sleep on my back so this wasn't too troubling at the end of the day. i'm sure i looked like i belonged in a coffin but that's the price of keeping lip piercings trauma-free. i put my headphones on, and eventually snoozed...
DAY 1
lots of bleeding. at first it was only on my right side; i couldn't really do anything about it, just waited for the blood to coagulate and dry on the bars. then my left one started bleeding a few hours later, right before i left to go meet some new people at a social gathering. like damn, thanks for that...
it was kind of embarrassing having to be like hey! nice to meet you ! with blood on my piercings but i powered through it and assured everyone that it was normal for a fresh piercing. social anxiety 0 : me 1
i even ate a little at the gathering because they were offering food, and i never reject free food... this was against more strict aftercare proceedings because i was biting into pizza, but i took very very tiny bites and i don't think it affected my piercings negatively.
DAY 2-3
nothing particularly important to note. eating has been awkward because i can't bite into things like sandwiches or burgers etc. utensils only for the most part! no straws either, but i don't use them to begin with. i also have to rinse my mouth out with alcohol free mouthwash everytime i eat. personally this has been really great for me and my teeth habits, so i don't mind.
DAY 4
going strong! the pain is more of an ache / itch now. i can move the bars around without pain, so i've begun to clean crusties off. less blood, more pus? i forget what it's called. my general approach to piercing aftercare is don't touch, let the body do it's thing - so there's still some blood on one of my bars that refuses to budge. it's cool, it'll come off eventually.
good thing is i don't think there'll be any more complications. healing has been really easy so far, with no signs of migration. the bruising hasn't gone away yet but that's fine. my lips are still dry as hell, cracking a bit.
currently just excited! seeing myself in the mirror makes me both really happy and really excited to get more facial piercings (after these heal, of course). & when i get my bars downsized i'll be able to switch out the balls to spikes... my vamp glory is less than a mere fortnight away. win!!
would i recommend someone get angel fangs so far? DUHHHH
because it's inside rather than going through my lip, i don't have to worry about metal scraping my teeth & fucking up my gums. this was a huge concern for me as someone w/chronic depression. i've put my teeth through enough over the years, seriously... the piercing is also just super fucking cute. possibly the goat of all oral piercings (i'm biased)
