I'm amused by kids calling Myspace "the old internet", but guess it's been almost 16 years since I joined Myspace.
We complained a lot about the glitchy operation and the popularity contests and the tasteless Myspace celebrities and the dumb quizzes and the countless lost hours and ThAnKs FoR ThE AdD (glitter glitter blink blink)... but...
All those people inside my computer who I friended and shared creative work and spent time with in real life and sadly lost and even one I married.
It was significant and special. It came at the exact right time and was therapeutic for me during some rough years.
I don't know if you can ever really go back, but it's kinda fun to visit.

I am finding it very poignant to see this place again. Grateful for all that blossomed here, for friends I made that impacted my life. Thankful for my ongoing friendship with you! Thinking of a few friends who are no longer with us. Need to get my thoughts together a little more, but I do feel a blog coming on.

it is certainly a refreshing shot in the arm of nostalgia
I am also very thankful for the love and friendship that we all created. It will be interesting to see in what way this space evolves but more importantly is seeing how we all continue to evolve. These are just platforms that provide a space to share. The space itself is irrelevant...or at least it should be. It is when these sites gain too much relevance that they becomes problematic because they become something entirely different when they do.

The daily writing discipline was a big deal for me. I haven't written anything longer than a FB status in literally years. So happy you and all the Myspace refugees are still in my life.
