Disconnect (the Video)

(11/10/2014) Disconnect (2012) — The first blog I wrote with the intention of making this a regular thing back in 2014. Based on the film from 2012 about the darker, twisted look at how social media can unravel lives. This is before social media became the be-all-end-all of how we communicate with each other. It’s not just a movie; it’s a look at how screens distort reality and make us question who we truly are from the point of view of what was understood in 2012. Not a whole lot of spoilers for the film here. This was before I had real structure to my writings. If you have kids going into the teenage years this movie still holds significance. If I had kids, I’d be watching it with them. For fiction it nails a lot of the realities about social media, even back in 2012.
