New danmei books this month

My Danmei books this month, admittedly some of them are birthday presents.

I really read a lot and these few books won't last too long, so I always have some on pre-order. Comics, books, manga/manhwa/manhua etc. I have tonnes of books. Maybe I'll write a little review of one book or another from time to time.

For those who don't know:

Danmei (Chinese: 耽美; pinyin: dānměi; lit. 'indulging beauty') is a Chinese genre of literature and other fictional media that features romantic relationships between male characters. Danmei is typically created by and targeted towards female audiences, but not necessarily straight women. While danmei works and their adaptations have achieved widespread popularity in China and globally, their legal status remains unclear due to Chinese censorship policies. The female same-gender counterpart to danmei is known as bǎihé (Chinese: 百合; lit. 'lilies'), which is an orthographic reborrowing of the Japanese word yuri, but it is not as well known or popular as danmei.

Rival investigators Cui Buqu and Feng Xiao embark on a diplomatic journey westward, hoping to build a key alliance that will stand against the power-hungry Eastern Khaganate. But they get more than they bargained for when they stop to rest at the oasis city of Qiemo, where they find a haunted inn, a beleaguered Sui magistrate, and the city divided between two powerful self-styled rulers.

Despite their larger mission, Cui Buqu has an audacious idea—one that will turn the city upside down and bring Qiemo back under Sui control if he succeeds. Even Feng Xiao must admit that, while Cui Buqu’s schemes are outrageous, there’s something increasingly intriguing about this sickly chief of the Zuoyue Bureau. Yet more is at stake in the city than petty power struggles: as the investigative duo digs into the underbelly of Qiemo, they uncover evidence of a conspiracy that stretches across Great Sui and beyond.

However, his reputation as the monster of the underworld begins to falter as his disciple's soft heart makes him realise what he has been missing for all 300 years of his eternal existence in the world of the cultured. No love that is easy was ever truly sincere, which is why in the case of the two men there is a painful break after only a short time.

Jaro could not give up Li Wang, his soul yearned for him too much and even the prince of the Cult of Immortality would be lying if he denied how addicted he had become to the boy's presence. Such a pure and good heart as the lad possessed would cost him his life in such a sinister world, and so the gods of fate agreed to make him strong, to rob him of his good qualities by giving him one stroke of fate and betrayal after another. Can Li Wang save him, the one he desired so much that he himself longed to live a short happy life with him? Can a sin preserve the purity of a heart? As if the trials and bad news were not enough for the budding love, Li Wang soon learns that Jaro is the glue for an unholy relic that grants the user a wish after collecting dozens of souls. It meant his certain death. Just when he thought he was safe, betrayal comes from within his own ranks.

It’s not easy for a man pushing forty to meet other gay men while living on the outskirts of the Great Xia kingdom. That is, until the perpetually-single Wu Xingzi catches wind of The Peng Society for Gentleman—a top secret club for men to meet each other and perhaps even exchange lewd ink drawings of their personal anatomy via pigeon post.

There’s just one problem. His favorite specimen belongs, in the flesh, to the notorious Guan Shanjin, a man of ill repute who is intent on thrusting himself into Wu Xingzi’s world. Will their encounters become too hot for Wu Xingzi to handle? Or will they find themselves both coming back for more?
