Friends are just a distraction

Friends are just a distraction in my opinion. Everytime I make friends with people things go fine at first but then they just stop talking to me and then I have to reach out to them and keep the conversation going so they will stay talking to me. and I don't like that, I don't like feeling like I'm the only one investing in the relationship. So I kinda just gave up on trying to make friends since it seems no one actually wants to be friends.
