I post on reddit sometimes. Actually a lot of times
There I talk more about my life, on the Indian teenagers subreddit. I've posted about how I felt suicidal a few times, and got tons of people commenting and trying to help. But recently, I posted my first poem, and barely got any comments.
Same on this platform. The only posts I've gotten even a single comment on (at this point in time) are the ones where I'm talking about how boring my town is and the one about my lonliness. Aka the vents
Pessimism is considered as "realism" and optimism is considered as "foolishness".
People love to talk about how "mental health matters" (it does), and how everyone deserves to get better, but there's a severe shortage of people talking about how to make sure you don't fall into the pit of depression in the first place.
I've see a hundred posts on Tumblr, Reddit, Instagram, Pinterest in how to get better, how to climb out of depression, and even some on how to not relapse. But where are the people talking about how to not fall into depression in the first place?
Has the world just set a stopwatch on how long you last before you fall?
Why is it impossible to stay mentally healthy?
Why does no-one care when you're just happy?
Why?
