Hearing a lot of people tell me where they get their clothing and...
You can not say you're punk (or any offshoot of punk) and then tell me you got your shirt off of SHEIN...
I just don't get it, did the whole thrifting and DIY clothing concept just fly over the new gens heads? I know it's really hard to find ethical clothing now, it's not just a temu/SHEIN thing, even most (if not all) stores near me are not ethical. The best thing to do is just to thrift and DIY, but even that is getting hard now with inflation where I live :(
Still, I'd rather not get my clothes from stuff like that
Do I really want to get some Amazon platform boots or a cool tee off of Aliexpress? Hell yeah
But It's really not worth it. I can't wait till summer hits and I can make some shirts, gonna pull out the sewing machine again (It's been a whileee) I'm not good at making clothes or DIY but I want to try
I got an aliexpress zombie bunny shirt as a gift and it feels horrid to wear, it's hella cute but...I don't know, I just can't wrap my head around people who say their against exploitation and commercialism and then turn up in clothes that was produced unethically
A lot of the time these people aren't even in their subcultures for the ideals but just the aesthetic and that's just really sad to me

yeah its sad to hear , I like to give these people the benefit the doubt and assume they cant afford thrifting, but its def disappointing how many people not just alt people, but people in general are choosing to buy from child labour busninesses
