So I just re-watched this storm, I might have brain damage now but let's talk. By the way I feel like I have to mention this for anyone who's interested in watching it but, From this point on the post will contain spoilers so I recommend clicking out.
-THE BASIC STORYLINE-
Eyes of Laura Mars is a 1978 supernatural horror film directed by Irvin Kershner. The general storyline follows Laura Mars, who woulda thought, who starts seeing visions of disturbing murders from a first view perspective, as any sane person does. Each vision feels more real to her, she starts to bend her visions with her reality, and since everyone likes playing detective nowdays, she tries connecting it. In my days we went to therapy, but to each their own.
Soon enough the police get involved, specifically detective John Neville, AKA Mr. Tommy Lee Jones himself, and Laura gets flagged as a suspect. Not going to get much into their love life, because mine doesn't exist and I dislike happy people.
With time and with the continued investigation they trim the suspect to be one of Laura's close mates (thankfully I'm not British I just enjoy their words). She gets more and more agitated in herself, thinking her or her art (which often depicted violence) could be the the partial reasoning for the crimes themselves.
A bunch of filler and attempts not to fall asleep later, we find out that the killer is none other then Tony, her manager and friend. It's always the Tony's that are criminals I'm telling you, we got Tony Montana, Tony Soprano and Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece.
Basically as any man who stepped foot in New York, Tony went bonkers. He's a deeply troubled dude that wanted to "free" Laura from her artistic persona, you know the one that takes pictures that could belong on a Jonjo Lyons video, as one does. Long story short she survives but was left traumatized, for obvious reasons.
-MY THOUGHTS-
Personally, not my cup of tea, I respect it tho. It's over the top, it's campy, all things i love but ultimately I found it boring. Faye Dunaway was amazing, but I feel like that's a given. Tommy Lee Jones was old and Raul Julia only exists as Gomez in my eyes. All jokes aside, the visuals were amazing I have to say, I also enjoyed the acting, even though I wanted to comatose myself at points. The ending was dissapointing, but hey at least my eyes were fine with it, ironically enough.
-THE FINAL REVIEW-
It's okay, although as much as I want to rate it higher at the end of the day I gotta give it a 2.9/5.
