Today we have an extremely special song, Subways Of Your Mind by FEX also known as The Most Mysterious Song on The Internet, Blink The Wind or Like The Wind.
For years people have been searching for the origins of this song ever since it appeared as a part of a tape some guy recorded on their radio in the 80s.
I've personally always loved the song and have even extensively tried to figure out what the lyrics were, based on the original hazy recording. I'm happy to report that most of my guesses were right on the money!
It's honestly astounding that this song finally got found, I was almost sure that it would just be one of those things that would stay a mystery forever $
Here's my interpretation of the lyrics from a few months ago so you can compare to the actual lyrics in the song:
Like the wind
You came here runnin’
Change the consequence of living.
There's no space,
There's no tomorrow,
There's no sent communication
Check it in, Check it out,
For the sun will never shine.
Paranoid anyway
In the subways of your mind.
Like the wind,
You're goin’ somewhere / gonna suffer / gonna stop her
Let a smile be your companion
There's no place,
And there's no sorrow,
Here's a young and restless dreamer.
Check it in, Check it out,
For the sun will never shine.
Paranoid anyway
In the subways of your mind.
[INSTRUMENTAL SOLO]
Check it in, Check it out,
For the sun will never shine.
Paranoid anyway
In the subways of your mind.
Check it in, Check it out,
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, Check it out,
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, Check it out,
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, Check it out,
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
Check it in, Check it out,
It's the summer blues
Tear it in, tear it out
It's the real excuse
