Went to WWWY fest with my bff in vegas and it was the best time of my life!!!1!!! We've both gone to tons of concerts but this was our first festival and it couldn't have been cooler xD. We flew into vegas the morning of, dropped our bags at the hotel, and went straight to the merch line at 11am. I got a few shirts, FOB, Silverstein, and an overall festival shirt. There was a really sick Thursday shirt that ended up being a long sleeved crewneck I didn't get so I kinda missed out on that ;(.
First band we saw was Saosin, they kiiiiiiiiilled, super fun set playing their self titled album! The guy in front of us passed a joint around which was perfect since I couldn't bring any weed in myself. Thursday went on after Saosin and, between you and me, they were the band we were actually waiting to see on that stage lolz. They played Full Collapse, one of our favorite albums of all time. Geoff Rickely sounded EXACTLY the same as he did on the record 20 years ago. Getting to hear Understanding in a Car Crash live was one of the greatest moments of my life, true ascension. We were super hella close to the stage, only separated by a VIP section up front :p. After their set we chilled for a little and then made our way to see Armor For Sleep!!!!!1!!1!1!!!!!! We caught the end of The Wonder Years' set, didn't know any of the songs on their chosen album BUUUUUT they closed it our with their top hit off a different album (and only song I know ((and love))). We ended at the front barricade for Armor for Sleep, incredibly perfect dude. What To Do When You Are Dead is flawless emo album, 20 years old and a staple of the genre imo. I think me and Avi were easily the most hyped/energetic people on barricade (the singer, loml, was looking at us not to brag XD)
Around 6pm it finally came time for the heavy hitter main stage acts lolol, on our way for Pierce the Veil we heard the Used play the last few songs off In Love and Death before Bert badmouthed MCR, played an unexpected song, and had his mic cut off lmaoooo. PTV went on exactly 1 minute after and we rushed with the crowd towards the stage, getting a preeettttyyyy good spot close in the middle. They played Collide with the Sky, minus Props & Mayhem >:[, with all of the features from the album. Obviously seeing Kellin Quinn on stage with Vic performing King for a Day was life changing!!!! The First Punch was one of my faves from the performance, it was actually only their second time playing it live ever!!! (first time being the day before). After PTV we stuck around for the first few songs off Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American before leaving the main crowd and grabbing dinner. Sat, chilled, and ate while A Day to Remember went on. I could still see/hear everything from all the way back which was a great surprise cause I had accepted that I probably wouldn't catch their set at all!!!xD
The two headliners, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance were set to play opposite stages directly next to each other an hour and a half apart. We made our way back up for FOB, who sounded incredible. Avi's not much of a fan herself so she took the chance to sit down and chillax while I fangirled behind her lolz. It was my 4th time seeing them live so every song they played I had already heard them play lmao but I would do it over and over again regardless. An hour and a half later it was time for the greatest, most anticipated moment in my life: My Chemical Romance performing The Black Parade in full!!!! God dude it was magically, knowing every single word to every single song since I was 13 years old and being able to sing them back to the band in a sea of people in the exact same situation was incredible. Sleep, Mama, House of Wolves, I Don't Love You, Disenchanted......I was gonna explode to death. They played Helena and Na Na Na as two encore songs and then the day had finally come to an end. I felt like my whole life had led to that night :))))))))
Our day started at 4:00am and ended at 2:00am, running on 3 hours of sleep, 2 bottles of water, 1 burger, 1 fruit cup, and 1 joint.
