"SIDE NOTE:THE MAIN OC'S IS ON THE TOP OF THIS PAGE - SAO"
Sao turned the car key over and over, but the engine stubbornly refused to start. With a growl of frustration, he slammed his hand on the steering wheel. "I’m going to kill him! I’ll kill Timothy!!" he shouted, seething with irritation. Beside him, Toby sat in the passenger seat, glancing at the dashboard with a raised eyebrow.
Toby: Casually "What happened?"
Sao let out an exasperated sigh, clenching the key tightly. "That f*cker Tim didn’t fix the engine like I asked him to, and to top it all off, we’re out of gas. He’s the one responsible for maintaining this piece of junk, and he can’t even do that right!"
Toby: Amused "So, what now?"
Sao leaned his head against the steering wheel, taking a few deep breaths to steady himself. He finally looked over at Toby, still visibly irritated. "We’ll have to walk back to the hideout… on foot." He punctuated his words with a frustrated bang of his head against the car horn.
Toby sighed, his own annoyance barely hidden, as he leaned his head against his hand. He opened the door with a resigned expression. "Alright, then. Grab your bag. Let’s get moving…"
Sao, still banging his head against the horn with every word: "Do—you—even—know—how—many—hours—we’ll have to walk?!" He raised his head, glaring at Toby. "Do you even know what time it is?!"
Toby raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Sao’s theatrics. "Why are you so worked up about the time?"
Sao got out of the car and stomped around to the trunk, throwing it open and grabbing his bag. He began unloading everything, muttering under his breath. "Because we won’t reach the hideout until sunrise!"
Toby: "And… so what?"
Sao glared at him. "The sun, Toby—I can’t stand the sun!"
Toby smirked, unable to resist a jab. "Alright, Miss Vampire. Take the key, and let’s get going."
Sao grumbled but slung his bag over his shoulder, marching off with Toby close behind. They walked in silence for a while, their footsteps crunching over twigs and leaves in the dark, before Toby shot Sao a curious look. "So, what’s your problem with the sun, anyway?" Sao ignored the question, his eyes fixed on the forest path ahead. Toby rolled his eyes and moved closer, tugging gently at a strand of Sao’s hair. "Come on, why the aversion to a little sunlight?"
Sao jerked back, glaring at Toby. "Stop it, you jerk! Don’t touch me again!"
Toby smirked, hands in his pockets. "So sensitive."
Sao took a steadying breath, trying to hold back his irritation. "I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I only have one eye. I can barely see out of it as it is. and my other eye is marked, but it’s still sensitive to light—even though I can’t see with it, it feels the brightness like needles. And unfortunately , my nerves are in perfect working order," he said, his voice laced with sarcasm. "So yeah, I can handle any burden you throw at me, but… sunlight? That’s my absolute limit."
Toby raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat intrigued. "Huh. So, Mister Tough Guy has a weakness after all."
Sao shot him a look. "Says the guy who can’t feel pain. At least I have the decency to complain when I’m miserable."
Toby chuckled, shrugging as he adjusted his bag. "Fair point."
And with a smirk, he quickened his pace, leaving Sao to mutter about his rotten luck as they continued their trek through the dark forest.

After trudging along for two grueling hours, Sao and Toby finally spotted a small clearing surrounded by towering trees, the branches dense enough to block some of the chilling wind. Relieved to find a spot to rest, they set down their gear, both visibly exhausted. Toby sat on a fallen tree trunk, arms crossed tightly over his chest. Meanwhile, Sao dropped to the ground, stretching out on his back, catching his breath.
After a moment, Sao glanced over at Toby and noticed that his face was flushed, and his shoulders trembled slightly despite his calm expression. Sao furrowed his brows, knowing full well that Toby couldn’t actually feel the cold; it was just one of those things that affected him without him realizing it. Toby might not feel pain, but he could still get frostbite—or worse.
Sao: "Are you alright?"
Toby barely glanced at him, irritation flashing across his face. "What are you talking about?"
Sao sighed, sitting up. He knew Toby wouldn’t admit to anything, but Sao was concerned, nonetheless. He took off his glove, walked over, and placed his hand over Toby’s, feeling the unnatural chill in Toby's fingers. Ignoring Toby’s protest, he reached up to touch his face, his thumb grazing Toby’s cheek to check his temperature. Toby turned his head away sharply, swatting Sao’s hand back.
Toby: Annoyed "Stop it."
Sao rolled his eyes, unfazed by the resistance. "Quiet and let me check." Without hesitation, he reached over and pressed his fingers to the side of Toby’s neck and ear. Toby’s skin was freezing to the touch, his shivers betraying the truth of Sao’s suspicions.
Sao: Grumbling "You really can’t tell you’re freezing, can you?" He tossed his gloves into Toby’s lap. "Put these on."
Toby stared down at the gloves with an annoyed look, his pride prickling. "I can feel the wind," he muttered. "But I don’t notice temperature—remember?"
Sao shook his head with an exasperated smile. "Right. You don’t feel pain, heat, or cold, which means you could be freezing out here and wouldn’t know it until it’s too late. Want my turtleneck too? We still have hours of walking left, and it’s only going to get colder."
Toby’s jaw tightened, his pride wounded. "I’m not a child for you to treat me like this."
Sao crossed his arms, giving Toby a stern look. "Maybe not. But you’re younger than me, so quit being stubborn." he said sarcastically ""I’m only returning the favor… for when you stopped… that from gouging out my eye, nothing more."
"It was a reckless move from that SS… I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. Besides, I hate him, so I had to stop him. And I know that if you came to your senses, you’d lose your mind even more than it already is over losing your eye… "He smirked sarcastically." Anyway, I’ll put up with your dirty clothes this time."
The silence between them grew easier, and they both allowed themselves a moment’s rest before Sao pushed himself up, stretching and brushing dirt off his pants.
Sao: "Alright, break’s over. Let’s get going before the cold settles in."
They both stood up, shouldering their bags and resuming their journey through the dark forest before it happen again ...

Halfway along the path, Sao suddenly stopped, his body tensing as he froze in place. He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing with a fierce, dangerous look before he straightened, his gaze locked on Toby with a fury that seemed to pulse through him. Toby, oblivious, had been walking a few steps ahead, lost in thought. But the sound of Sao’s footsteps stopping finally caught his attention.
When he turned back, he found Sao glaring at him with a look that made the hairs on his neck prickle. He saw Sao reach for his bag, throwing it to the ground in a swift, frustrated motion, before his hands dove into his pockets, searching frantically. Toby’s eyes widened as Sao’s fingers curled around the handle of his weapon—a sleek dagger that gleamed even in the dim light.
Toby’s instincts kicked in, realizing whatever was wrong was serious, and he took a cautious step back, his mind racing as he tried to read Sao’s next move.
Without thinking, Toby dropped his bag and lunged at Sao, determined to pin him down before he could use the dagger. They crashed to the ground, and Toby wrestled Sao's arms down, pinning him beneath his weight with his knees on Sao's chest and his hands locking Sao’s wrists.
In this state, Sao seemed almost dazed, his eyes unfocused, his breathing shallow. Toby knew this look all too well; Sao had been switch into S.S
Toby leaned close, shouting sharply. "You’re SS!"
But Sao, or as he act as S.S now, spat back with venom, "It’s you! You!! I will never forget what you did to me—I'LL SHOW YOU!"
With a sudden burst of rage, Sao twisted and sank his teeth into Toby’s arm, trying to force him off. Toby didn’t flinch; he held Sao by the neck with one hand, pressing him down harder, his other hand keeping Sao’s wrists immobilized.
Toby sneered, unfazed by the bite. "Don’t bother trying. I don’t feel a damn thing… but you?" He locked eyes with Sao, his voice dropping to a cold, steady tone. "You’re the one who’ll feel it."
Sao’s breath hitched, his struggle faltering for a moment as he processed Toby’s words. Toby didn’t let go, holding him firmly, With cold determination, Toby brought his fist down, hitting S.S's head repeatedly. The final punch landed hard against S.S’s right eye, drawing a pained, guttural scream from him. While S.S writhed in agony, Toby took advantage of the moment, reaching into S.S’s pocket to grab the dagger and hurling it as far away as he could, ensuring it was out of S.S’s reach.
With a quick glance at the distance between them, Toby took off, sprinting toward his bag. He dropped to his knees, frantically unzipping it and rifling through until his hand closed around the small emergency pouch he needed—an anesthetic kit with pre-loaded needles. His fingers tightened around one of the syringes, and without wasting a second, he dashed back to Sao, who was now crawling slowly, clutching his head in visible pain.
Toby pounced, pinning S.S’s struggling form to the ground once more. He gritted his teeth, pressing the needle firmly into the side of S.S’s thigh and injecting the anesthetic. Keeping a solid grip, he twisted S.S’s arms behind his back, settling his weight onto S.S’s back to prevent any further resistance.
He sat there, tense and watchful, feeling S.S’s thrashing gradually weaken as the anesthetic took effect. The few minutes felt like hours, but finally, S.S’s movements dulled, his breaths slowing, and his body going slack beneath Toby’s hold.
Toby stood up from SS’s back, exhausted, taking a deep breath to steady himself after the tense confrontation. He knew he had only a few minutes before SS would start regaining full awareness, so he wasted no time.
Sitting on the ground to calm himself, Toby felt his body trembling involuntarily His movements grew more intense and involuntary due to his Tourette. After a few deep breaths, he reached into his bag, pulling out a length of rope. He dragged SS’s unconscious body across the ground and propped him up against a nearby tree.
With careful, practiced movements, Toby bound SS's right hand with one end of the rope, then looped it around the back of the tree to secure the other end to SS’s left hand, pinning him tightly to the trunk. He grabbed another piece of rope to tie SS’s torso against the tree, ensuring he couldn’t move. For extra measure, he found a third rope in Sao's bag and bound SS’s legs together.
Once he was confident that SS was thoroughly restrained and unable to move, Toby collected his own bag and Sao’s, casting one last glance at the bound figure against the tree. Then, without hesitation, he turned and ran toward the hideout on his own, determined to reach safety before SS could free himself.
