lacemaking is so ridiculously difficult, at least bobbin lace is if thats what ur talking about. if you already know to knit, crochet, or embroider, def try a form of lace using those techniques. i embroider and broderie anglaise is the only lace i would ever make again lol. but a lot of these are so cool!!! i hope u can try all of them :)

I visited the old city of Rauma a few summers ago and there was a boutique sort of place that sold and preserved the local lacemaking tradition. They even had a guidebook to show what kind of lace went with which a traditional dress from certain region (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ. I got inspired by the very detailed pieces and wanted to do my own lace to my traditional head piece (tykkimyssy) o(*°▽°*)o. I knew just from looking at somebody making lace themselves that it would be ridiculously hard but its the kind of work that becomes easy when you get the hang of it (and the head piece is only used by married women so I have a lot of time to practise (○` 3′○)).
