just a dialogue from Damnation/Salvation (my writing)

Agatha: Why? Why are you like this? Surrendering easily?

Josh: Because I've realized how cruel life is and how much I've suffered in this dystopian world... maybe I think I'm in this crapsack world because... it's like a punishment... a nightmare I can't wake up from...

Agatha: Look, you'll make it out of this terrible nightmare... we just need to keep going and going... even if the creatures here are thirsty... we need to keep going... it's damnation or salvation... you can shape your destiny...  *she holds out her hand to him* come on... I can't leave you behind now... without you, I wouldn't have survived...

Josh: *without thinking twice, he takes her hand and stands up* the only way... is to fight and overcome my fears... even if it means sacrificing my sanity in this place.... Edicius... Edicius is a despicable place (...)

Josh's thoughts: In the midst of the darkness, there is a light that illuminates my path... and that light is in the form of a girl... who was saved by me... it's as if she's returning the favor... guiding me and helping me to chart my destiny here.... I will get out of this nightmare... no matter what happens next...
