Outside is the only real place.

I had no real plans for today,
So when I woke up at 0830 I felt a little... off... to say the least. I went and had a bowl of cereal with the door open, and as I looked over my balcony, chewing on Trader Joe branded Frosted Flakes, I couldn't help but be flooded with an overwheliming sense of melancholic peace; similar to finishing a series you've been involved with for weeks. After doing dishes I got dressed and decided to hit the beach we'll call "Bridge Beach," since there is many beaches I like to go to and would hate for other stories to get confusing.
After driving for about 30 odd minutes I finally arrived, grabbed my tote bag filled with two bananas I bruised on the way out, the essay book that's been slow to read, and my radio which was unfortanely low on battery. I went over to this little concrete block which is close enough to shore that if you time it right, you're able to cut through the waves without getting wet. I bounced between this block and the rocks nearby since I felt as if I was being watched (I'm very awkward and there was this small group in the same area.) After a 20 minutes or so of this, I finally was able to settle down where I originally wanted to sit, pulled out my book, and read maybe only 4 or 5 pages. The wind was blowing rough and frankly, I was couldn't get comfortable enough to sit down and really engage with the text.
Since I didn't feel like going home just yet, and the morning felt realitively fresh, I decided to go to this forest that I usually head to at night and get kicked out of since it closes at sunset. Another drive filled with sad Americana and poor singing, I arrived to a packed parking lot filled with hikers, dog walkers, and old couples taking advice from trees that were likely younger than them. The air was still quite chilly so the thin hoodie, meduim weight jacket, combo was really helping. After a short walk I found the perfect tree to set up shop and read.
Instead of the intense reading session I had planned however, I spent more attention to my surronding than the text which rambled on about dialectical reasoning and dialectical naturalism and hard fact and how the author disagrees with hegel and how they disagree with egel and on and on. The squirriels playing around and the bugs going on with their day was far more interesting. A little while later I had to go use the restroom and decided to get up and head out. My bladder was yelling at me and so, I thought it would be a smart idea do in nature what nature does. Looked left, looked right, and right as I finished up I saw a couple who were closer than I first thought. With an incredible heavy sense of embaressment I high tailed it out of trail and went groccery shopping instead; leaving the rest of the trail unexplored as it was kissed with sunlight.
It wasn't all bad though, I got this harvest chilli which is scrumptious and a "Gobbler wrap," which was a solid lunch (a little too much cream cheese.) All in all, I would rate today a 5/10 so far (the situation in the woods really brought the score down.)
