Prophet of Tulia, issue 91 (part 2/3)

Some of you might've heard about the mysterious break in in Miss Veronica's, our local good samaritan's, house. Haven't you wondered what really happenned there? Well, we're here to help!

We've managed to score an interview with Miss Veronica Keyes herself!

Our journalist: Good afternoon, miss. We'd like to talk about the latest break in. We know, we know, the police says they're trying to solve the case, but we don't believe them.

Veronica Keyes: Ah, yes, the break in... Well, it was a very strange thing.

OJ: Strange in what way?

VK: Well, it was obvious that it wasn't a human. God... I was frightenned horribly, I'm telling you. I wake up at 3AM because of some rucuss from the living room. Somebody was singing church songs. Although, I must say, it wasn't really rucuss. That little voice was beautiful. Angelic. But something was wrong with it. It was so hypnotizing. A strange thing, I became so very peaceful, I didn't even intervene. That devil came up to me, and it became obvious that it was some hellish creature. The bastard took the form of my grandson, Salamander. He lived in Greensville. His corpse wasn't really found, but where is the boy suppossed to be if not in heaven? He had to be home then. The poor child was to have his birthday party organized on 29th November. At least that's what my daughter, Montana, said. And her body was found. Only her husband, Greg, is still alive, that damn workaholic.

OJ: Yes, we're very sorry for your loss... But what about the devil?

VK: Ah, yes, the devil. Not a lot to say besides that. He lit my crosses, portraits on fire... and left. The effect of his song burst like a bubble. I tried to leave, through the door, through the window, one, another... But nothing! I almost suffocated in there. Luckily, my neighbour was apparently watching football late into the night and noticed my house was aflame. So he came and shattered the window I was trying to get out of. Because the fire brigade is oh, so very far from here. It's take them ten minutes to come here.
