DDLC thoughts! ^^

OKAY! so ive officially finished the game for the first time!

i decided to stop live updating my blog because it was definitely very distracting and took away from the immersion LMAO. it also made the game go by a loooot slower.

!!! DDLC SPOILERS !!! + content warning for discussion of suicide and other similar things 

okay. a little bit all overr the place but heres my thoughs:

IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

i adore this game ghh! the silliness and softer aesthetic But darker themes .. i mess with it HARD

when sayori confessed i originally told her i loved her but then just felt WEIRD about my character saying how he loves her SO. MUCH. i was like "woah there! slow down bucko! i love her sure but not THAT much!" so i went back (i did the "save game before big decisions" thing! thanks monika!). 

BUT LIKE THAT ALSO DIDNT MAKE HER HAPPY. NEITHER OF THE CHOICES DID. THE ILLUSION OF FREE CHOICE. THIS GIRL WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED (to the union, to the revolution).

i got a friend to play along near the end and he was insisting monika does NOT actually play piano so i was like "HAH!" when she DID. my multitalented queen they can never make me hate you

SAID FRIEND happened to have watched a gameplay before so he lowkey spoiled some stuff a little LMAO. it was all in good fun but it did mean that alot of the things didnt really come as a surprise sadly :'3 

despite somewhat knowing what was gonna happen, finding sayori dead was .devastating. seeing my character wish he did something different to save her whilst knowing that noNE OF THE OPTIONS WOULD HAVE! UGHhgbdhf

i also wish i spent more time with natsuki :( i spent basically the rest of the game talking to yuri (and then monika ofcourse..) but natsuki's still my fave i think. i wish i talked to her more UGH she deserves so much better. learning about her family life n stuff hit close to home lol. shes my favourite I LOVE NATSUIKIIIirtguj

yuri's death was also just like. Ouch. i dont really know how to put it into words. AGH. sitting there just to Process it and whatnot just felt soooo.

when i finished the game i googled the different endings and i got the most common first-time player one. which like. makes sense. 

when monika was just SITITNG THERE staring at me near the end i legit thought it was gonna ? stop at some point??? likeee i legit sat there for way too long (i blame the bit from when yuri died cuz i sat there for SO LONG before finding the skip button.) until at one point i googled "how close am i to finishing this??" cuz i legit was like. THIS ISGOING ON FOREVEEEER!!!!! . yeah turns out i was meant to delete monika's file. I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THAT!! LIKE YA SHE TOLD ME TO BUT I DIDNT THINK I ACTUALLY COULDDDD. 

oh and when she did the "ojhjhhh she knows youyr real name XD" thing it did NOT work because i was already using my real name. and the "name" she said is a completely misspelt version of my name which i specfiically use for my files and stuff so i immediately knew where she got that from HELP.

edit: OH!!! I LOVE monika's character btw. her being sentient and stuff. idk i LOVE the concept. ahhhhh i loved this experience alot

also ifyouve got any similar game recs lmk.... free games, preferably. im not usually into dating sims idrk. i just loved these vibes and i'd totes play something like this again
