"my twee monsters" by tracey brakes Review

tracey brakes is a name I have been aware of since July with the release of “Girls Who Are Wizards” by Vylet Pony, which is one of my favorites of this year. I had rather enjoyed her feature on that album, so when I heard that her debut album was being held in high regard, I decided to give it the light of day.

Oh.

My fucking god.

This album has so much texture in its production and I absolutely adore it, tracks like “back to sleep” and “endorphin heist” especially highlight this with their spectacular, tinnitus-inducing production that I simply cannot get enough of. Tracks like “viceheart” and “carbonhead” are still produced and written beautifully, even if they lack the crushing instrumentals of the tracks previously mentioned.

This album’s so fucking addicting, this is genuinely some of the most confusing, disorienting, mind shattering music to have entered my ears within the decade so far and I love it so much. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to this masterpiece of a debut from tracey brakes, you won't regret it.
