Niko's Dream Journal #2 "Intermediate Torment and Mutilation Artform"

TW: VAGUE MENTIONS OF TORTURE/GORE

I'm not too sure how to start this but I will set the scene; I was in a weird mix of my childhood home and a science facility (have no idea what this means). 

The main part of the dream I remember was a new and controversial (yet ultimately celebrated) artform called ITMA. ITMA apparently stood for "Intermediate Torment and Mutilation Artform/Artistry". The rules to creating a piece of art that was ITMA were that you had to physically alter a figures body to the point where they were able to survive in a state between the living and the dead. The point of it was that it was supposed to highlight the unsettling spectrum of consciousness and question when we actually consider something 'dead'.

In the dream itself, I was helping two ITMA artists who looked like batman villains (crocodile man and weird monster/robot hybrid)?? We got these three dolls (who were alive) and put them in a bag, poured some sort of serum in, and threw them out the backdoor onto the patio so the serum could 'work it's magic'. There were two other bags out there with other creatures similar to the artists inside. One had acid poured on them and the other was cut up into pieces, yet they were both still alive (somehow)???

The dream never advanced past that point since it was one of those mini dreams you have when you wake up before your alarm and go back to bed for twenty minutes or something. It was so genuinely bizarre but so interesting... I don't have much of an idea of what it could mean but it's probably just another one of my many dreams lamenting on death (unfortunately common). The concept from this one is so unique that I might use it in the future.
