anyone good with plant care?

my mother has a few "variegated pineapple lilly" plants or something similar growing. so far only some leaves and they weren't doing too good where she had them so she moved them to our bathroom, and she moved them because of these white things on the leaves & it looks like fluff but she says it's sticky.

we aren't sure what to make of it, what it is and what to do about it. i can add pictures for reference if needed. I'd just like to know what to do about it so they can grow healthy

maybe the white sticky stuff is mealy bugs? (google it and lmk)
i think you should isolate the plant to keep it from spreading to the other plants and use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to directly kill the mealybugs and then after a few minutes, gently wipe down the leaves with a damp cloth to remove any residue
also bathrooms are really good for humidity but be careful not to overdo it bcs it can lead to pests increasing. also check the plant regularly to make sure the pests don’t come back
sorry if this isn’t helpful!

also repeat the treatment weekly to make sure the infestation is really gone, it’s best to research urself cuz i’m not really sure

underneath the leaves there are like little green bugs or something we just found? not sure if they're mealy bugs but they're something!

we did get the plant cut from another, my mother isn't sure if maybe it's the soil problem too? your response was helpful because I checked properly and saw all the little things! so thank you
