The One That's True

In the mirrors tender gave, a face begins to bloom
A journey etched in flesh before laid beneath a tomb
With every pill a storm begins to rise
A symphony of rage and pain, These years lay buried in disguise

The whispers of who i am, once thought imposters in my mind
Now break the chains that hold them back no longer left behind
Tears that never dared to fall now torrent like summer rain
Hot droplets carry stories of a heart in hidden pain

My body shift, my spirit unfolds, like tie-dye colorful and bright
A t-shirt once white and dull now dances in the light
With this bloom the past calls out, demanding to be heard
The echoes of a stifled doubt who's voice i give no word

Through the haze of my chrysalis a change to soon begin
Emotions surge like tidal waves, crashing from within
Anger, grief and joy collide, a typhoon so fierce and wild
Coming to terms with truths of past in which I've to reconcile

In this flood, my freedom found, liberation has been born
In the pureness of this pain, my true self becomes adorned
No longer smother in silence, no longer forced to hide
The woman in the mirror stands with only resolve left inside

She is whole, She is fire, She is every tear that fell
A testament to an odyssey through her own private hell
In the end with scars revealed, She smiled trough the pain
She found Herself at last and Her soul will not be tamed
