My week in Rome!!!!!

I'm making this blog much later than I said I would but better late than never!!! As most of my blogs it'll just be a photodump with some commentary if that. I'll try to go in chronological order.

30/09/2024 - the flight there from Liverpool, England to Ciampino airport via budget airline!!!!! Got stopped by security for a little bit bc I had these small scissors in my bag you use for trimming your nails and I guess they don't allow sharp objects. I got a great view of the Alps while flying there. When we were landing I also saw the coliseum but I didn't get a photo in time. It was so sunny and warm when we left the destination airport. It was such a breath of fresh air after a gloomy week in England. it really felt like a second summer.

The flight itself wasn't lot but the drive to the airport was since we had to go a different city very early in the morning. Then a bus ride into inner Rome to quickly unwind at our air bnb. On the way there I saw so many people riding scooters and it seemed so cool. Everyone drives pretty risky here but they must've gotten used to it. I would've loved to ride mine around there.

The street were our accommodation was located is so stunning. It was like one of those Instagram vs reality posts where places aren't as scenic when you go there on any regular day but it was so picturesque.

The interior of the place we were at was alright. The best part about was the balcony in my opinion, which is the only part I took photos of.

I like it so much to the point were I just stayed in it for hours while my parents went on to wander around  sightseeing. I had brought a book with me and it was so relaxing. Later in the evening, not too far someone was playing Bam Bam by Sister Nancy while I was reading on the balcony and while Reggae isn't something I listen to I like that one song in particular because it was on the Skate 1 soundtrack and I was playing that in the weeks leading up to this trip so I liked hearing a song I had in my head for a while come back. Now I associate it with this trip and I'm glad. While I was enjoying myself this image wouldn't get out of my head lol

We went to the Coliseum!!!! Pretty boring, the admission team was really strict about being on time and literally had us wait again for being 1 minute early and was pretty boring overall. But epic JoJo reference I guess.

Church with a long line of people wanting to take a selfie at the mirrors with all the paintings on the ceiling. We didnt bother waiting in line since I don't take selfies but also because we had to wait forever anyway because there was a wedding going on here and we had to wait for them to leave.

I've taken a lot more phots but these are only the best ones I guess. Looks like I ran out!

I bought some souveneirs, mainly these little magnets of bottles that were super expensive and a wrapped candy made of glass which I kinda regret getting

I also found a Monster Ultra Red, a flavour I've never seen back home and thought to try. I also brough the can back home with me because I have a friend who collects these cans and it'd be cool to have the collection go international.
