Okay, I’ve only watched up till the first episode since funimation has its stuff with “only premium viewers can watch this”
I learned it’s on Hulu so I’ll continue from there.
Either way, I haven’t watched the entirety of the show so correct me if I’m wrong.
Tokyo Ghoul re: just basically destroys the entire storyline of the first two seasons.
Okay Ken Kaneki is a college student, he interferes with a ghoul that he thought was his date, she ends up being murdered by some falling pipes (Deus ex machina)
From all his injuries cause by Rize, they put her organs into Kaneki. Yet they didn’t know it was a ghouls organs (Withiut consent from Kaneki or running any tests on the body just straight up)
That’s the only problem I have with Tokyo ghoul.
Afterwards he works at Anteiku with Touka and they have adventures or something.
But then, ghouls from Aogiri tree come to find Rize, since she’s dead they take the closest option: Kaneki.
He’s tortured everyday but having his toes cut off and stuff, and having a centipede down his ear.
Eventually he has a physiological realization and his hair goes white and he becomes cold and stuff them he escapes and basically commits cannibalism on Jason (His Torturer)
The finale of the show
(SPOILER ALERT OBVIOUSLY)
Concluded with Kaneki’s best friend since grade school, dying after interfering with the war between the CCG and ghouls.
The CCG is there to exterminate and investigate ghouls for anyone who’s reading this without watching the show for some reason.
Kaneki, fights Amon (Amon dies) then fight Arima (Main antagonist: CCG investigator) and ends up dying (Kaneki dies this time)
Awesome ending, I cried a lot.
Like a lot.
But then Tokyo Ghoul: re says “no”
Basically Arima killed Kaneki sorta, but brought him back as Haise.
This pisses me off 😀
So basically the entire plot of Tokyo ghoul is just destroyed now, the CCG hates ghouls but then Arima legit takes a ghoul under his wing, “erases his memories” (sorta) and acknowledges that he has feelings?
Bro like in Tokyo ghoul the entire time spent with the CCG was just “ghouls are heartless and have no remorse, we must kill them” then in re: this shit comes up of “Haise is half ghoul, and our friend! He has valid feelings. Also you totally ARE NOT Kaneki lmao”
Then Akira goes “That’s cruel” when she learns the standard procedure is “Haise is to be treated as a human when he is human, Haise is to be treated as a ghoul when he goes out of control”
Like bro stfu you killed families of ghouls, just because you know one ghoul doesn’t automatically make your opinions towards ghouls valid cause you still don’t give a shit about any ghoul but Haise.

Idk correct me if I’m wrong there’s not much for me to say.
Tokyo ghouls plot was mainly fighting CCG investigators and trying to make them acknowledge they having feelings.
Then Tokyo ghoul re: basically throws away all the characters they killed of in the first two seasons just to be like “Yeah lol ghouls have feelings but we kill most anyways”

In re: they still see haise as a threat, but he's also the base of the new half ghouls, and Arima is basically a hyprocrate SPOILER ALERT Becouse he's also a ghoul but a type that can pass easely as human, and does that work to fell more "human".
