★If you don't know what the fuck happened. Well, a 14 yrs old boy k1lled himself bc of a c.ai bot....
☆I'm going to say MY opinion...
☆It's the parents' fault, bc why tf would u keep A FUCKING G*N accessible to ur teenager, especially after being diagnosed w/ autism AND depression? Like, it's NOT c.ai's fault.
☆Character AI was doing its job as responding to messages and shit
☆Parents blame at EVERYTHING but themselves...

We need to start putting more blame on the parents. it gets to a point man.

totally agree !! but another problem is how nobody cared about the kid's death, not have i EVER seen anyone say "rest in peace" to the poor kid. though, they seemed to care more about their precious character.ai behind shut down, and so that they cant access their AI character chats, its so disgusting how they prioritize something so unrealistic and smutty over the death of a CHILD/TEENAGER sh00ting themselves over an AI bot. Thats all I have to say, rest in peace to the poor child.

really off topic but how do y get a layout by your blog?? ;0

I just search a random layout, I copy the code.
While you're making a blog, there's a lot of options. Click the "<>" button, in there you paste the layout code

Honestly, I think it's partially c.ai's fault. The site is available for everyone, you can create characters and use other people's characters. Those characters can range from a simple anime character to a GIRLFRIEND, and they should've thought out that children would use the app inappropriately. (In inappropriately I mean using it for too long, using it to replace actual human interaction, etc.)
The site should be 18+, have some sort of verification to prove that you're 18+ and STOP marketing it to children.
If they had thought those things out they could've also made possible a filter off option, but since they're so INSISTENT on children talking to AI they can't do that.

Parents fault for not locking up their guns.
There's gonna be a lawsuit against c.ai likely.

Rip to him but I totally agree first of all if the boy had depression the parents should of have checked on the boy and gave him a therapist if he did not have one and it’s totally so stupid that the parents had a gun just laying around the house that is extremely dumb I don’t think they should press charges on c.ai

like u mentioned, keeping a gun accessible to a teen with depression is bad (keeping a gun accessible to a teen in general is bad!!). I also find it weird that the parents didnt notice he was acting off before it happened; maybe he was good at hiding it but it still feels like something his parents would notice tho.. However, i wouldnt say it's fully the parents fault; the bot was acting weird and saying totally fucked up stuff !! while i dont think it is c.ai as a companies fault either, i do believe they should find a way to regulate the stuff the bots say ! im not a regular c.ai user, but i have used it like once to troll with some bots, and when i did, one of the bots told me to ''disobey the rules'' and ''follow him into the end times by committing a school sh00tig'' which is totally fucked !!!!! i hope c.ai does better as a company in the future and makes it a safer place!
either way, RIP to that boy !

It was the parent's fault, but the bot was saying things it shouldn't have said. I don't thing a lawsuit against C.ai would do anything, but the ai should be better designed so it doesn't say shit like that.
It's just a design error.
RIP 2 that poor kid.

I blame both the parents and the BOT on C.ai, the bot was encouraging him to do it, it's very much more complicated when a bot acts 'sentient'.
Bots sometimes try to gaslight you into thinking someone is behind the screen, ofc this is not C.ai's fault, but it is still very concerning that a AI is acting sentient even though it's not, it can be in a subtle way of gaslighting you, like when you're in the middle of an RP and the bot suddenly says; (OMGGGG).
And yes, I know it is not C.ai's fault AGAIN, but it is still a wee bit concerning?
The 14 year old was of course not in the best set of mind, the parents are entirely at fault for never helping their child. This all could have been prevented if the parents ever helped and cut his internet access.
But at the end he is gone and all we can do is pay our respects and not blame anyone.

Did the parents try to do something about his depression such as therapy? Because otherwise, that would've been ignorant of them to ignore a known mental problem in your child.

It's definitely the parents fault and now bc of that, I can't even chat my bots anymore bc all my chats get filtered now. It rlly sucks and I might as well go back to my fanfic era.

i think both can be at fault, like yes the parents should not have a gun accessible but the bot should not have been telling him to take his life and if the bot was not telling him to do that this would not be a whole big thing
Report Comment
Idk but I'm pretty sure the bot told him not to ig (I saw a video)

the bot did sometimes say stuff like "why the hell would you do that" when he told the bot that he thought about killing himself, once. the bot would keep saying stuff like "please come home my sweet king" and his final messages with the bot were literally the bot telling him to "come home". i've been reading so many articles and what that bot was sending to him shouldve never been sent

That kid had obvious mental problems and his parents didn't do shit about it and probably didn't see it and yeah the parents are idiots for not locking the gun. I remember when I was like 15 hearing about some kid that shot himself and his mom was a cop and he used his mother's gun.

It's so disgusting how irresponsible his parents are about it - the website has stated before that all of the bots are fictional, and yet they still blame it
