Hello! I'm Shack Man, and I love going to the movie theater. Let me talk about the last 5 movies I saw in theaters:
Smile 2, 7/10: Fun! So many jumpscares, which can be such a crutch for horror movies, but Smile 2 does an actually decent job of setting them up, plus it has some actually creepy imagery. Naomi Scott as the main character was amazing, I loved her performance. There's a scene with her giving a speech that I loved probably more than anything else in this movie? A fun, if kinda simple and cheap, horror movie. Kinda overly long though. Recommend.
Terrifier 3, 8/10: I remember seeing talk online calling Art the Clown an "industry plant" because they don't understand his sudden popularity. As someone who's seen all of these movies, I completely understand it. Art The Clown is just such a cool slasher, and Terrfier 3 is a bloody good time. Insane amounts of blood and gore, and some shit in this had my jaw dropped, and I completely ate it up. Also, actually decent plot, probably the most shocking thing in this movie. Highly recommend only if you can stand some pretty disgusting gore.
Piece by Piece, 7/10: Legitimately such a creative and pretty animated movie to look at. That's probably it's strongest point, because the actual story (Pharrel Williams life story) is only kinda cool I guess. I'd like it if this director/team got to make another movie like this with another story. If you're a huge fan of him, you'll probably love this, and the soundtrack absolutely slaps. Recommend if you're looking for a movie with a unique form of storytelling/love Pharrell Williams.
Megalopolis, 2.5/10: Jesus Christ. This movie is an actual work of art, if only because it created so many emotions in me, most of them negative. Very pretty visuals, but an overall garbled, meandering, boring mess. What a way for Francis Ford Coppola to go out. Highly don't recommend.
Transformers One, 9.5/10: Mentioned this one in my last movie post, I have now seen this movie 4 times in theaters. Literally actually peak, highly recommend!
That's it for now, I'll do this again once I watch more movies. Check out my Letterboxd
