my Fav Songs - Teenagers by Hayley Williams

I could write about Hayley Williams for literal hours, days, years even. But today I just wanna write about how incredibly rude it was that Jennifers Body only included like 15 seconds of this BANGER of a song- 

first of all the instrumentation of this song perfectly captured the small town vibe of Jennifer's Body, and I loveee the guitar the choice of chords and the strumming pattern is simple and very effective. right away the song sets the vibe so well and from there it takes you through a short story. 

not to mention the message of this song is great, not too deep, but just so adequately accurate. Were teenagers, were stupid, a lot of things happen as teenagers that we need to learn to recover and move on from, and you have a lot to learn as a teenager. its very well said. now I wanna write about my favorite lines:

1)" Its in the air now, bitter tears and broken hearts, were teenagers, we count the years we think were smart, but were not, we dont know anything" um yes as a teenager this is very true sometimes I have to remind myself that im literally ONLY 16 instead of being ALREADY 16. 

2) "why must we all make sense of what just wont make sense, for once, im just gonna live" yas girl sometimes we just need to live life and take a minute instead of think alllll the time.

3) "well, how was I to know, that what we carved in stone, would be so temporary"

COME ONNNNNNNNN that is amazing and so simply put and when I first heard this song I was like wow why didn't I ever think of that (its bc hayley williams is a genius) but yes and it really feels like that, when you're a teenager you are expected and you expect everything to be consistent. This particularly makes me think about how when you're in 8th grade you have your little friend group, and then when you go to high school that all falls apart and suddenly you have no friends or maybe you make new friends. She also makes a comment on Teen love in this song which is great, saying it doesn't last and even though we might know that you always expect it too. 

anyways please listen to this song if you are a teenager or if you want to experience a simple masterpeice or if you watched Jennifer's Body and loved the movie but had no idea this was the song playing on the radio in the scene in Needys kitchen.
