GhostRunner Review

ghostrunner menu

i was playing overwatch the other day, using genji's dragonblade and i was thinking how it would be fun to play a whole game where you just run around chopping people in half with a sword. And i was in luck, as thats exactly what GhostRunner is, you even play as a cyborg ninja, my god its poetry.
GhostRunner is a tremendous experience with great punchy combat, exciting movement, nicely tuned difficulty, a great story and just perfect pacing.
the combat and movement is so fun, the ghostrunner feels great to control, and thats really all you can ask for, when just moving the character is fun everything else follows. alongside combat sections theres alot of first person platforming which is really fun. through the game's well devised aesthetic its easy to really get into the mindset of being a wallrunning, railgrinding ninja helping the experience all the more.
the game presents something of a challenge at times, but it never feels unfair, everytime you die you feel as though you could've avoided it, you couldve dodged that bullet, you couldve struck first, you couldve had cleaner movement.
i hate it when games shove story down your throat, with boring cutscenes and too much talking, but ghost runner tells a story through its enviroments and the occaisional conversation between your character and others, done in a way which doesnt interrupt gameplay at all.
i only installed the game two days ago and i already finished the whole thing, and its not even super short or anything (it took me ~6 hours to beat), it was just that engaging. paced so well, switching up between platforming/parkour and combat constantly so that the game never starts to drag.

GhostRunner gets a 5/5 by my standards

so yeah thats a review of ghostrunner, basically play this game if you wanna be a ninja innit, its a good one.
