Presentation for new people

Hi there. Since I've been bored lately and I'm interested in coming back to Spacehey, I decided to make a presentation entry so I can be found by other people who share my interests and make new friends. Without any further ado, let's start with this presentation.

My name is Carlos, but on the Internet I'm Mirai. I'm from Nicaragua and as I'm writing this, I'm 16 years old. Some of my interests are computers, game development, languages, art, and retro things in general (I LOVE retro things). But let's talk more in detail about my interests.

Videogames

I wanted to start talking about computers first, but then I thought it would be better to start with a topic more familiar to most people, so let's begin talking about the video game franchises I like instead.

My favorite video games are Nintendo games, like Super Mario 64, Mega Man X, Mega Man Legends, Kirby 64, Kirby Super Star, Bomberman, etc. Sonic games, like the Genesis trilogy, Sonic CD and Adventure. PC games, like Doom, Half-Life, Garry's Mod, etc. Indie games, like Minecraft, Terraria, Yume Nikki, and SPECIALLY Touhou, a franchise that is one of my main sources of inspiration

Computers 

How do I start talking about this? I love computers since I have memory, so I'm interested in computer science and software development.

I've been making projects in Java, C++, and C since the last year, mostly in the latter two and most of them focused on video games. Currently, I've been trying to learn OpenGL, since I would like to make a game from scratch without using any already existent game engine.

Aside from software development, I've also created some websites in HTML for Neocities over the years, you can find my personal webpage [here], but notice that it's in Spanish (I have plans to make an English webpage soon tho).

And of course, I couldn't close this topic without mentioning that I'm a Linux user. (I use Arch btw).

Art and music

For the last year, I've been developing my art skills. You can find many of my artwork in my blog or on my personal website. Some of my favorite artists are ZUN (the creator of Touhou), Nostalplant (currently Lastworry111), Uzumibi, etc.

My favorite aesthetics are Cybercore, Dreamcore, Frutiger Aero, Y2K, and whatever that "Early 2000 Gamecube Dreamcast ethereal" aesthetic is called. Some of my favorite music is Dolls In Pseudo Paradise, by Zun; Tren al Sur, by Los Prisioneros; Who Can It Be Now, by Men at Work; Lostwaves, like "Ulterior Motives", "Try To Smile Again", Feels Like a Wish", etc.

I'm not really that literate in music, so if you have some artist or album that you feel to recommend, you're welcome to do so.

Languages

I can be considered language nerd. I like both natural languages and conlangs. Some languages that I know are Spanish (my native one), English, and Russian, I've previously studied Japanese too. I'm currently learning French and also improving my English skills, another reason why I'm writing this blog entry.

Conclusion? Farewell? Both? I don't know how to title this part
