Halloweenie VI: Possess Me

Everyone knows a Christmas song, everyone even knows that one Chanukah song, but can you think of any Halloween songs besides “Ghostbusters” or “Thiller”?

Ashnikko, the alternative-pop artist, might come to mind after releasing her sixth Halloween song since 2018; that’s one per year. This year’s “Halloweenie VI: Possess Me” has a much electric, almost-but-not-quite industrial sound than previous songs in the series. Since the beginning, the sound of their bass-heavy pop songs have become more and more influenced by an alternative sound—like many of her songs. “Halloweenie VI” did however, have the same vulgar lyrics found in previous years.
